We all have people in our past whom we look back on with a sense of bittersweet gratitude, recognizing that they played a significant role during a particular time in our lives. These people brought lessons, laughter, and experiences that helped shape who we are today. Yet, as we reflect on those moments, we also understand that their presence was not destined to last forever. They were meant for that specific chapter in our journey, and while we cherish the memories we created together, we also acknowledge that life moves us in different directions, guiding us toward new experiences and relationships.

"Stars On the Ceiling" is that bittersweet nostalgia of growing up. Looking up at those sticky stars on your ceiling and somehow, mysteriously falling asleep. Changing the paint in your bedroom from pink to grey. Driving yourself to school for the first time. Leaving the magic of your hometown for the pursuit of new adventures. I wrote this song to process the joy, pain, excitement, and grief I was feeling all at the same time. I hope it can help you the way it's helped me.
